Learn how to use a partial capo to sound like a one-man bluegrass band in Episode 17 of Guitar Sessions.

The lesson teaches how to play my song “Fly,” a grand prize winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. In this song, the partial capo—which in this case covers three strings and leaves the others open—allows me to play melody (“Fly” interpolates the traditional fiddle tune “Sally Goodin”) as well as rhythm and makes possible some super fun improv soloing.
